Care Assistant Care and Support - Gilmerton Care Home Contract: Full Time Salary: £13.60 Per Hour Shift Type: Days Contracted hours: Full Time or Part Time Care Assistant – Dayshift £13.60 per hour | 8:00am – 8:00pm Full time hours available Paid PVG, pension scheme, uniform provided and 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on full time hours) Gilmerton Care Home is located in the Moredun area of Edinburgh and provides nursing care for up to 60 residents. This Care Assistant role involves supporting residents through their day to day routines, helping to maintain comfort, dignity and independence. The role is hands on and includes personal care, mobility support and assisting at mealtimes. Care plans are followed closely, records are kept up to date and any changes in residents’ needs are shared with the team to ensure care remains consistent. Care Assistants work closely together throughout the shift, supporting each other and maintaining a steady, organised environment. The focus is on delivering a reliable standard of care and ensuring residents feel safe and well supported. This role suits someone with a calm and practical approach, who works well as part of a team and takes pride in doing the job well. Previous experience is helpful but not essential. An SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, or willingness to work towards this, is expected. There are opportunities to develop within the role over time, with support to build experience and progress.
