Position Description
Position Summary
Tech Crew Team Members are responsible for supporting the technical requirements for all university functions and events by setting up and operating sound, lighting, and A/V equipment.
Major Preferred
Engineering, Communications, Computer Science, Music, Digital Media – However, all majors will be considered.
Experience Required
Sound or Lighting Set-up and Operation
Customer Service
Experience Preferred
Experience with digital audio consoles is helpful, but not required.
Skills, Characteristics Required for Position
Must be willing and able to learn how to operate and maintain sound and lighting equipment
Must be flexible and able to take direction well
Must work well under pressure and remain calm in stressful situations
Independence, self-motivation, common sense, and creativity are desirable qualities for the position
Dress Code Requirements
Close-toed shoes must be worn at all times.
Employees will be advised on dress requirements for certain events.
Special Working Conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work from heights while standing on a ladder or a lift
Ability to work long hours including early mornings and/or late nights
Frequent night and weekend work is required for this position

Primary Duties
1. Set-up, operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and teardown of various lighting, sound, and video equipment for chapels, concerts, lectures, banquets, and other university events.
2. Organization and preparation of all technical equipment.
3. Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment as needed.
4. Transportation of sound, lighting, and video equipment around campus.
5. Maintain inventory and organization of multiple storage facilities.
6. Communicate effectively with the Sound & Lighting Technician and Coordinator.
7. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Secondary Duties
1. Assist the Sound, Lighting, and Event Coordinator, Sound & Lighting Technician, and Event Coordinators and Assistants as required.
2. Other duties as assigned.
