Make a real difference in the lives of families affected by cancer. Big C is seeking a passionate Family Support Officer to join our Norwich team. In this role, you’ll deliver emotional and practical support, facilitate workshops and activities, and develop innovative, family-focused resources for children, parents, carers, and siblings affected by cancer. Working closely with professionals and colleagues, you’ll ensure all services are evidence-based and contribute to service development, research, and evaluation. You’ll also play a key role in our Norwich Centres, providing a warm welcome, supporting families directly, and helping shape services that truly make a difference.

As a regional cancer charity, Big C are dedicated to supporting anyone affected by cancer in Norfolk and neighbouring counties whilst working with key partners in research and healthcare to improve future outcomes.
There are an estimated 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK. 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime. Big C seeks and implements new approaches and projects to make sure that no one is missing out on the opportunity to access our support.

About the role
You’ll create and deliver family-focused resources and interventions, working with professionals to ensure support is evidence-based. The role also involves contributing to research, service evaluation, and project development, while providing everyday support at our Norwich Centres to create a welcoming environment for all service users.
Hours of work
35 hours to be worked flexibly over 5 days, including occasional weekend and evenings.
Salary
£25,902.14 to £28,583.75 per annum (subject to skills and experience)
Contract Type
2-year fixed-term contract (with potential to become permanent)
