Electrical Design Engineer – Bedfordshire – £48,000–£55,000 – Manufacturing
The Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical designs from concept through to production. You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet technical, safety, and commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop electrical systems, control panels, and schematics for manufacturing equipment
* Produce detailed drawings using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
* Support the full project lifecycle, from initial concept through to commissioning
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, BS, CE marking)
* Work closely with mechanical engineers, production teams, and external suppliers
* Participate in design reviews, testing, and troubleshooting activities
Requirements
* Proven experience in electrical design within a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and electrical schematics
* Proficiency in electrical CAD software
* Understanding of relevant standards and safety regulations
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* HND/HNC or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
