Severn Trent Services are searching for a knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate Health and Safety Manager. Within this role, you will champion and lead the delivery of health and safety across our organisation.
Providing expertise and technical knowledge, the Health and Safety Manager will advise on all aspects of health and safety. The role requires exceptional leadership skills, the ability to influence at all levels within the business, and willingness to support field-based teams as needed.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing our safety culture and our health and safety journey.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Deliver risk management, including risk reduction and mitigation measures and implementation strategies.
* Review and update RAMS to ensure minimal risk exposure.
* Host Health and Safety forum meetings.
* Ensure legislative compliance across the organisation.
* Support ongoing improvements for ISO 9001, 14001, & 45001 certifications.
* Investigate incidents as appropriate, ensuring findings are communicated to senior management.
* Act as a key advisor on safety, legislative changes, and best practices, ensuring company-wide implementation.
* Manage, coach, and lead the health and safety team.
* Conduct training sessions, toolbox talks, and inductions.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
* Proven experience leading HSW initiatives in complex, multi-departmental environments.
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
* Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
* Deep understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
* Experience in utilities or similar industries is highly desirable.
* Ability to lead and develop teams, including remote staff.
* Skilled in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Ability to obtain security clearance.
