Base pay range
Part‑time (17.5 h per week) with an annual salary of £30,202 to £41,769 (pro rata).
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out formal scheduled teaching on programmes ranging from level 1 to 5.
* Undertake a personal tutor and/or course leader role to groups of students to maintain high achievement rates.
* Prepare delivery plans, sequenced learning plans and learning materials.
* Mark students’ work and/or examinations and carry out internal quality assurance.
* Work as part of the team in the monitoring, reviewing and evaluation of all aspects of the programmes, including work placements.
* Maintain appropriate College and university records, and follow College Quality processes.
* Participate in self‑assessment procedures to monitor and evaluate performance.
* Carry out student reviews and tutorials.
* Contribute to curriculum development.
* Participate in student recruitment including marketing activities and interviews.
Skills and Qualifications
* Level 2 or above English/literacy and maths/numeracy.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in counselling or a related area.
* Membership of a relevant professional body.
* Recognised full teaching qualification or to be working towards a level 5 teaching award or equivalent within 2 years.
* Accredited counsellor or working towards accreditation.
* Currently practising as a counsellor.
* Evidence of successful teaching experience of adult students on counselling programmes across various levels.
