The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Project Delivery Officer (M&E), with a demonstrable track record of building maintenance and/or renewable technologies to make a real difference to people’s lives, homes and communities. As our Project Delivery Officer (M&E) you will be an integral part of the Assets Team, working across Wales to deliver what matters to our residents.
Who are we looking for?
We’re seeking a skilled and proactive professional to support our Programme Delivery Team as we expand our expertise in retrofitting energy-saving measures to our homes and also deliver a wide range of mechanical and electrical focused upgrade projects across Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative refurbishment projects while influencing the planning and delivery of sustainable housing solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong ICT skills, with the ability to collect, record, and monitor data, producing insightful reports to support decision-making at senior levels. A relevant technical qualification, combined with experience in Mechanical and Electrical project delivery, particularly within an electrical or gas background would be highly advantageous.
You will play a pivotal role in procurement processes, ensuring efficient sourcing of resources while managing multiple projects simultaneously. A proven track record in partnership working and relationship-building with external stakeholders, particularly suppliers, is key, alongside strong negotiation skills to achieve successful outcomes.
As our team continues to grow and evolve, we need someone eager to research and embrace new technologies, applying them effectively to our work. Resilience is essential, as the landscape of this work can be challenging, and confidence across all communication methods will help in engaging with colleagues, managers, and external stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering WWH’s aspirations for high-quality homes, including carbon reduction, while ensuring we do the right thing for our residents. The role requires strong technical construction knowledge, particularly regarding heating systems, electrical upgrades and low-carbon technologies.
You will be an active member of the Assets team, assisting the Project Delivery Manager (M&E) in the planning, coordination, and delivery of planned maintenance and upgrade programmes, with a particular focus on mechanical and electrical (M&E) and compliance works.
A key part of this role involves working in partnership with our group maintenance company Cambria Maintenance Services, and contractors, ensuring that specifications and methods of delivery are continuously evaluated and improved to achieve the best value for the Association and its residents. You will also be responsible for ongoing evaluation and recording of both financial and service delivery performance, exercising effective control and management.
Additionally, the post holder will be required to research new and emerging technologies that have the potential to improve the lives of residents, ensuring effective dissemination and application of that knowledge to create options for future maintenance programme planning.
This role plays a significant part in the delivery of major refurbishment work and technology trials, while contributing to the wider Asset Management Strategy. Working in collaboration with managers and regional teams, you will support the Group in defining and delivering its aspirations for high-quality homes that meet regulatory and legal standards, including future Welsh Government decarbonisation targets.
