Catering Assist - Cold Room (Part time)

A vacancy has arisen for a motivated person to join the "Cold Prep Section" in the Catering department at University Hospitals Dorset.
This is a demanding role that requires good physical fitness, flexibility, and organizational skills.
You should be able to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy environment.
Responsibilities include preparing sandwiches, salads, baguettes, Paninis, and salad bar items. Some general cleaning and assistance on the patient production line may also be required.
As the role involves working in a cold room, cold weather clothing will be provided, including boots, socks, thermal garments, snoods, and sweatshirts.
***Please note there are 2 part-time roles available: 16 hours per week and 12 hours per week***
Base Location: Poole Hospital

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good standard of education (GCSEs Grade D or above)
* Basic Food Hygiene certification
* Awareness of relevant training upgrades (e.g., Allergen information)
Experience
* At least 2 years of previous catering industry experience
* Experience in food handling
Knowledge
* Understanding of food safety regulations
Personal Skills
* Ability to identify opportunities for improvement
* Openness to change and adaptability
* Ability to work in a cold environment
* Reliability
Other Skills
* Flexibility in working hours, including weekends
