Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: WF4 Salary: £460 – £600 per week Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day Start Date: Immediately Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the WF4 area. This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students with additional learning needs, working closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised plans. You will play a vital role in promoting engagement, building positive relationships, and helping students access the curriculum effectively. Responsibilities: • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN, ensuring individual learning needs are met. • Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised support strategies. • Support classroom teachers in delivering structured and engaging lessons. • Promote positive behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques. • Encourage students’ academic progress, social development, and independence. • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff. • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Qualifications: • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role is desirable. • Understanding of a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students. • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of learners.
