Senior Care Assistant
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will provide the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting our residents in all aspects of daily living.
You will also be responsible for promoting our residents' independence with a focus on choice, dignity, and respect, alongside promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing. You will give input during shift handovers.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading your shift to ensure high standards are maintained and that other team members feel supported.
You will complete daily medication rounds and document consistently without errors, ensuring medication audits are successful. You will also ensure that daily charts are completed to a high standard by all team members on all shifts, leading in this area.
You will promote good practice in all aspects of care, challenge poor practice from other team members, and ensure one-to-ones for all care and support team members are conducted every two months. You will investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.

* Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3)
* Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in a residential/nursing home setting
* Understanding of Person-Centred Care Planning principles
* Knowledge of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of abuse signs, and procedures to follow in case of an allegation
* Living within 30 minutes of the Home
Preferred Requirements
* Two years' experience in a similar role in a nursing home
* At least one year working in a similar role in a residential or nursing home
* At least two years' experience in a senior care role in a residential or nursing home
* One year experience caring for residents with dementia
* NVQ Level 4 in Adult Health and Social Care or above
* Knowledge of National Care Standards Act 2000
* Experience conducting effective person-centred one-to-ones
* Experience managing a team
