Are you a dynamic, self-motivated individual with the ability to work creatively and accurately under pressure while sticking to tight deadlines? Are you passionate about driving positive change and improving services? If you are experienced in project management, operational delivery, data analytics, and collaborative working, then this might be the role for you.

This exciting new role of Highways Continuous Improvement Manager focuses on supporting and guiding multi-disciplinary teams to ensure Staffordshire's highway infrastructure and services support vibrant, safe, and sustainable communities.

In this role, you will be instrumental in translating learning from recent Highways Transformation into a refreshed programme of work and building continuous improvement across the service. Working within Highways Business Support & Improvement, you will collaborate to align highway service delivery to contribute to economic growth, sustainability, and resilience.

You will be based in Stafford with flexible working options. This role is fixed-term until December 2027.


Main Responsibilities

* Support the scoping and implementation of new strategic priorities across the Highways services.
* Lead project management efforts, collaborating across the service using the full project cycle.
* Oversee projects related to governance, monitoring, efficiency, value for money, health and safety, and county assets.
* Assist in creating strategies and policies to ensure resilient and efficient services.
* Facilitate workshops engaging cross-cutting services, collating data and themes to inform decision-making for future plans.
* Develop data analysis processes for monitoring services, project progress, and contracts.


The Ideal Candidate

* Possesses a degree or relevant experience in a related field.
* Demonstrates effective analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
* Ability to work in complex environments and influence across organizational boundaries.
* Effective interpersonal skills to engage with various stakeholders and work as part of a team.
* Strong time management skills with flexibility to meet deadlines and adapt to workload changes.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
* Proficient planning and project management capabilities.
* Ability to foster a culture of change with a solutions-oriented mindset.
