Your new job role:
6. Prepare and interpret financial statements, ensuring alignment with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
7. Supervise the accounts payable function, ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on schedule
8. Handle core financial accounting duties, including maintaining and reconciling the general ledger
9. Leverage accounting platforms like Sage, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, and Xero to streamline financial reporting
10. Offer guidance and support to junior accounting staff, promoting their growth and development
11. Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process to aid in strategic decision-making
12. Perform routine audits of financial procedures to identify improvements and uphold industry best practices
13. Partner with various departments to deliver financial analysis that informs key business strategies
What you’ll need to succeed:
14. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications like ACCA or CIMA are a plus
15. Possesses proven experience in financial services or a similar sector, with emphasis on financial management and accounting standards
16. Highly proficient in using accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, and Xero
17. Demonstrates strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and precision in financial reporting
18. Skilled in mentoring junior staff and fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment
19. Effective communicator, both in writing and verbally, with the ability to simplify complex financial information
20. Well-versed in accounts payable procedures and knowledgeable about financial accounting best practices
