Department The University of York’s Postgraduate Admissions team is seeking a Postgraduate Admissions Manager to oversee all postgraduate activity for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, working in the central admissions team. Role You will have overall responsibility for the delivery of postgraduate admissions for the faculty, ensuring that admissions processes are carried out consistently, fairly and in accordance with University admissions policy. The successful candidate will line manage a Team Leader and provide leadership to a postgraduate admissions team, supporting performance, effective workload management and the delivery of an admissions service aligned to the University’s recruitment strategy. As the postgraduate admissions lead for all postgraduate courses in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, you will work closely with academic departments to agree admissions criteria, monitor decision-making timelines and support the delivery of agreed offer targets. You will act as a key point of contact between central admissions and the faculty, providing expert advice and constructive challenge where appropriate. Working alongside the other Postgraduate Admissions Managers, you will contribute to the delivery of a centralised admissions service across the University. This will include oversight of admissions data and reporting, and participation in cross-team admissions and recruitment activity. You will also assist with projects designed to improve the efficiency of the admissions service, enhancing the experience of both internal and external stakeholders. This is a fixed-term contract for up to 10 months. Skills, Experience & Qualifications needed You will bring excellent communication skills, proven experience of managing a team, and confident database and data analysis skills. Experience of working in higher education admissions is highly desirable, along with an understanding of UKVI requirements and CAS processes.
