We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Tamworth. The Role As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will: Support a child with ASD both inside and outside of the classroom Deliver engaging activities tailored to the child’s individual needs Use strong behaviour management strategies to support learning and emotional regulation Work independently and use your initiative throughout the school day Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs, school staff, and external professionals Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for the pupil to thrive academically and sociallyRequirements To be considered for this role, you must have: Strong knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) A relevant Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification Previous experience supporting children, ideally within an educational setting Excellent behaviour management skills The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team References covering the past 2 years, with at least one reference commenting on your interaction and work with children An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS through Smile EducationWhy Join This School?
