Role Overview
Position: Community Connector – Basildon Libraries
Type: Fixed Term, Full Time
Salary: £27,664 to £32,546 per annum
Location: Basildon
Working Style: Community-based worker
Closing Date: Monday 5th May 2025 at 11.59pm
We are reimagining our libraries to provide the best experience for our customers. We are recruiting a Community Connector to work across Basildon, Castlepoint, Rochford, and Maldon Libraries. Note that this role includes Saturday work and requires mobility across the operational area.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and promote events supporting customer and library services in outreach settings.
* Support delivery of library activities, develop partnerships, and promote library services to reach new and existing users.
* Collaborate with local partners to promote literacy, reading, learning, and digital offerings.
* Build and maintain outreach opportunities with lasting community impact.
* Monitor and evaluate outreach programs to demonstrate value and effectiveness.
* Foster strong relationships with internal teams, partners, and the community.
Required Experience and Skills
* ECDL Advanced Level (Level 3) or equivalent qualification/experience.
* Effective communication skills with diverse audiences.
* Experience working with community groups, volunteers, and partners.
* Strong coordination, project delivery, and relationship-building skills.
* Experience in outreach activities, especially with young people and families.
* Ability to prioritize and manage work independently and within teams.
