Your Role
You will execute first-class services (e.g., transport management, requests, & deviation management) according to joint and contractual agreements with the customer. The role will be performed in the EMG (Logistics Control Tower) in East Midlands Gateway as part of the Control Tower team. You will learn about the role, services, and processes through involvement, system testing, and work instruction creation.
Your Responsibilities
1. Coordinate specialised transport services for customer orders, using Loginext Transport Management system and manual planning activities.
2. Schedule and create cost-effective transport plans, optimising the use of own fleet versus sub-contractor haulage where possible.
3. Coordinate with logistics service providers to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery in full.
4. Select transport modes and logistics service providers based on agreed parameters.
5. Manage ad-hoc transport requests and adjustments.
6. Oversee driver routes and schedules to maximise productivity and control costs.
7. Provide first-line support for logistics queries.
8. Respond proactively to customer requests to foster positive relationships and minimise disruptions.
Your Skills and Experiences
1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
2. Strong customer service orientation.
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Ability to work in shifts from 7 am to 7 pm.
