Working under the direct supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse who delegates tasks to the post holder. The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) will deliver high quality nursing care to patients as part of a team. The post holder is responsible for their own practice, working within the defined limits of competence and within the scope of the role. The registered nurse retains accountability for the care delivered by the HCA.

We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic, and caring Healthcare Assistants, who have a passion for working on a medical ward to join our supportive and friendly team. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and inter‑personal skills; it is preferred to have previous experience in the role.
You will be provided with clinical training to learn the role and will have daily supervision by a trained staff to perform safely, confidently and competently the clinical skills required. The Trust is giving opportunities and support for your future career pathway and development.

* Care Certificate Completion or equivalent experience
* Evidence of ongoing professional development

* HSC Diploma Level 3 Advance / Higher Apprenticeship Level 3
* NVQ level 2 in acute care
Experience
Essential
o Experience of working in a healthcare setting for a duration long enough to have obtained relevant competencies for a Band 3 position
o Experience of working with computers (keyboard skills, data entry)
Skills and abilities
Essential
o Clinical skills (e.g. phlebotomy etc.)
o Evidence of good organisational skills; self‑motivated to work under minimal supervision
o Patience and understanding of patient's needs
o Ability to remain calm and demonstrate tact and diplomacy whilst under pressure.
o Evidence of commitment to customer care initiatives
o Awareness of the importance of patient confidentiality
