Overview
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Project Manager to work with one of our key clients. This role is available on a hybrid basis from Edinburgh or Cheshire, supporting a major multi-year change programme that is transforming how critical operations, technology, and data are delivered.
The programme brings previously outsourced services back in-house, including operations, people, platforms, and data capabilities. A key component of this programme is a large-scale data migration, involving the movement of complex customer and policy data to new target platforms. The Project Manager will help ensure that the data-migration activity, platform transitions, workflow changes, and supporting technologies are all delivered in a controlled, well-governed way, maintaining quality, accuracy, compliance, and business continuity throughout.
This role is perfect for a Project Manager with strong delivery experience, excellent stakeholder skills, and a background in complex change or migration programmes.
Responsibilities
* Deliver projects to agreed time, cost and quality standards using best-practice project management.
* Support delivery of the data-migration workstream, ensuring dependencies, risks, and sequencing are well understood and governed.
* Build and motivate high-performing delivery teams, ensuring responsibilities and milestones are met.
* Define and secure appropriate resources for successful delivery.
* Proactively manage risks and issues, including those linked to data quality, migration readiness, and technical cutovers.
* Establish strong relationships with third-party partners to optimise delivery, cost, and value.
* Apply appropriate levels of governance and ensure alignment with programme methods and standards.
* Maintain strong cost control and understand the wider financial impact of project decisions.
Qualifications
* Experience delivering projects within financial services or similarly complex regulated environments.
* Able to solve issues, remove blockers, and maintain momentum across delivery teams.
* Skilled at communicating with a broad range of stakeholders, adapting style as needed.
* Able to build consensus across diverse groups and influence effectively.
* Forward-thinking approach to cost, benefit management, and delivery optimisation.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to build trust, commitment, and collaboration within teams.
* Experience working on platform migrations, integration programmes, or data-migration initiatives is highly desirable.
