Job Summary Our successful R&D Project Engineer will oversee the project management, planning, execution, vendor management, tracking, and reporting of product development projects e.g. software and connected device, in accordance with agreed upon scope, schedule, and budgets. Driving cross functional project execution through collaboration with various functions such as R&D, Operations & Commercial teams. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Develop project plans, including integration strategies, timelines, resource allocation, and milestones • Work with cross functional project teams to develop time schedules and resource requirements, providing a coordinated and collaborative approach to New Product Development • Execute integration plans while closely monitoring progress and adjusting as needed • Collaborate with external vendors, establishing clear communication channels and ensuring delivery according to agreed-upon specifications and service levels • Provide research and support to the project team in developing new projects, including creating plans, budgets, and performing risk assessments • Work closely with PMs, PMO, and other team members to ensure project scope, budget, and schedules are adhered to • Possess a basic working knowledge of software and electromechanics technologies, enabling you to ask challenging and probing questions during project development • Review schedules and provide updates on the progress of all projects to PMO line management, and with T&I senior management where appropriate; revise schedules/plans as required to ensure successful completion • Support the collection and presentation of project information to PMO line management and /or T&I senior management where appropriate, report on projects at defined project/portfolio reporting forums • Create agendas, chair meetings and maintain accurate records of actions, decisions and risks. • Identification of roadblocks within projects, support and escalate to ensure resolution with cross functional collaboration • Manage compliance to both Design Control and Business processes, such as preparation for Gate reviews with core team and ensuring rigorous adherence to our IDEAL process with support from PMO line management • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders • Set up shared folders or workspaces to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured. • Contribute to the PMO group by sharing relevant knowledge and supporting organization development • Create and manage budget, utilizing project management tools or software to track and control project expenditures effectively Qualification • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field • Ideally 1-3 years of hands-on product development project management experience within a highly regulated industry • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Excellent problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset. • Strong technical proficiency in all MS Packages such as Excel and MS Projects. • Highly self motivated. Travel Requirement Dependent on location position may involve travel up to approximately 20% of the time. International travel will be expected. Working Conditions Significant home-based working, travel to our Deeside or London sites when required.
