Electrical Maintenance Engineer Coventry Shift Pattern:06:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday (Days) Mainstay Recruitment is pleased to be working in partnership with a highly respected and long-established powder coating and metal finishing company based in Coventry. Due to continued investment in plant reliability and performance, the business is now seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join its dedicated engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong electrical fault-finding skills and experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Candidates with a working knowledge of PLC systems, particularly Siemens or Allen-Bradley, are particularly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns across the sites electrical systems Diagnose faults and carry out minor programming or resets on PLC-controlled machinery Support mechanical repairs and inspections, including work on motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and industrial ovens Work closely with the production team to minimise downtime and maintain continuous operation, particularly on powder coating lines Accurately document maintenance activity and contribute to plant improvement initiatives Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety legislation and internal procedures Required Skills and Experience Recognised electrical qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment Ability to fault-find and reset PLC systems, with a preference for experience in Siemens or Allen-Bradley Basic mechanical knowledge, with confidence in working on moving machinery A proactive and reliable approach to maintenance and engineering support Desirable but Not Essential 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification Experience in powder coating, painting, or industrial finishing environments Familiarity with automated conveyor systems or compressed air controls Understanding of lean manufacturing, TPM, or other improvement methodologies What the Role Offers Competitive salary of £40,000 per annum Day shift working with no regular night or weekend requirements Opportunities for paid overtime Ongoing training and upskilling in PLC systems and coating line technologies A clean, well-organised and safety-conscious working environment A permanent and stable role within a business committed to operational excellence To apply or learn more about this opportunity, please contact the Mainstay Recruitment team today.
