Location and postcode: Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 2AZ. Hybrid and flexible working, probably with the need to travel into the operating region a couple of times a month on average. The role: We are seeking a Director Of Governance, Risk And Regulatory Compliance to guide and oversee a Governance, Risk, Compliance and Legal portfolio. You will have a strong background and knowledge of the UK housing sector and regulatory environment, along with a good understanding of the political, social and economic factors affecting housing providers. The role will manage senior leaders across these functions, oversee a multimillion-pound budget, and act as a key advisor to the Executive and Group Boards. From shaping policy to steering regulatory engagement, the impact of the role will be felt across every corner of the organisation. The role will lead: Governance & Company Secretariat Risk & Compliance Legal Services Regulatory Assurance Day to day the role will: Champion regulatory excellence and board assurance Lead strategic servicing of Boards and Committees Oversee legal services and compliance frameworks Drive risk culture and corporate assurance Influence policy, ethics, and data protection Represent Aster to regulators, auditors and external stakeholders Key requirements: Senior leadership experience in governance, legal, risk or compliance Proven track record with Boards, regulators and complex portfolios Deep knowledge of UK housing regulation, company law, and assurance frameworks A collaborative, inclusive leadership style that inspires high-performing teams Desirable Chartered Governance Professional (CGIUKI) or equivalent Knowledge of UK housing sector and regulatory environment Knowledge of Company, charity and community benefit society law Experience of Risk management, internal controls and assurance frameworks A background in Data protection, anti-bribery and financial crime legislation A strong understanding of the political, social and economic factors affecting housing providers How to Apply Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
