Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated Audiologist to join our multi-disciplinary team based at the Listening for Life Centre. The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the YAIS Audiology service including the line management of the audiology team. Clinically the postholder will independently undertake highly specialised complex and non-routine clinical audiological assessment and rehabilitation of babies, children and adults under assessment and post cochlear implantation.
Responsibilities
* Lead and line manage the YAIS audiology team.
* Lead and coordinate the specialist clinical, technical and rehabilitation service for the audiological aspects of support for patients referred and managed by YAIS.
* Be responsible for the development of the paediatric and adult YAIS audiological services, including audit and research.
* Participate and coordinate clinics with ENT Consultants.
* Contribute to MDT discussions around patients, pre and post cochlear implantation and service issues.
* Responsible for the teaching and training of Audiology professionals with regard Cochlear Implants.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc in Audiology or equivalent and MSc equivalence (e.g., significant clinical experience and M level study or MSc in Audiology with a certificate of clinical competence such as Certificate of Audiological Competence, Higher Training Scheme, Scientific Training Programme or equivalent).
* AHCS/HPCP Registration with evidence of CPD in accordance with registration body.
Experience
* Significant experience in all aspects of audiological assessment and management of cochlear implants.
* Experience of working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Evidence of management/supervisory experience.
* Evidence of leading and developing an area of Audiological practice.
Skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to adapt communication to accommodate barriers to understanding.
Knowledge
* In-depth understanding of Cochlear Implants.
Other Requirements
* Demonstrates a commitment to develop both personally and professionally within the role as the service needs require.
* Full driving licence and access to a car (Desirable).
