We are seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Engineer / Supervisor for Newton Abbot Community Hospital, on a single-site basis. The role is designed to ensure delivery of a quality maintenance service to our NHS client. The hospital includes 60 beds, a rehabilitation unit, a minor injury centre, a small maternity unit and a range of outpatient facilities. This position suits an experienced maintenance professional seeking progression or a candidate with prior site supervision experience.

Responsibilities
* Hands-on daily site maintenance duties as part of the responsive repairs and planned/preventative maintenance (PPM) programme. Tasks may include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, ironmongery and related trades depending on experience.
* Act as the focal point for external contractors, organising and arranging planned maintenance visits as required.
* Manage site files to ensure statutory and technical compliance, including health and safety procedures on site.
* Work a standard pattern of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with participation in an on-call rota to manage urgent repairs (on-call earnings opportunity).
* Combine site supervision with hands-on maintenance duties to deliver a reliable service to the NHS client.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience as a Maintenance Engineer/Operative; some prior site supervision experience is desirable.
* Experience supporting NHS clients is preferred; transferable experience from hotels, schools, supermarkets, etc. will be considered if applicable to NHS settings.
* Technical knowledge of M&E building services maintenance and Health & Safety procedures in daily site operation.
* Electrical and/or mechanical qualifications are advantageous.
