Ryanair is currently recruiting for a Flight SIM Engineer to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody to progress their career and gain experience in Europe’s leading airline. Our simulators are in use over 20 hours per day. We currently employ over 8,000 pilots, and the SIMs are used for both initial and recurrent training. As a SIM engineer, you will maintain various training equipment and associated Flight Training Devices, carrying out preventative and corrective actions on our SIMs to ensure minimal disruption to our pilot training schedule.
The Role:
The successful candidates will be based at Stansted Airport and will have to perform the following duties:
1. Perform daily readiness checks to ensure FSTD is ready for daily operation.
2. Maintain Flight Simulator Equipment to EASA FSTD-A Level ‘D’ Standard.
3. Maintain the Quality System in accordance with EASA Requirements.
4. Review and implement aircraft and vendor service bulletins.
5. Install and verify aircraft loadable software.
6. Liaise with aircrew at the technical level on aircraft systems to resolve defects.
7. Liaise with technical inspectors at initial and recurrent qualifications.
8. Liaise with FSTD vendors to rectify defects requiring vendor support.
9. Run and check the scheduled Quality Test Guide (QTG) Tests.
10. Design and implement modifications on the simulators to maintain compatibility with the Ryanair fleet using hardware and software engineering skills.
11. Conduct technical defect clearance with nominated flight crew.
12. Conduct subjective evaluation sessions of FSTD performance with flight crew.
13. Conduct subjective evaluation sessions of visual databases with flight crew.
14. Maintain compliance with the UK Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
15. Complete any other tasks reasonably required for the daily operation of a Flight Simulator Training Centre.
Requirements:
* Recognized Apprenticeship or Adult Training in electronic and avionic engineering.
* A background in aviation/flight simulation.
* Specializing in Digital Flight Simulation, Complex Data Networking, and Process Control using Distributed Microprocessing.
* At least 3 years’ experience in military and/or civilian Flight Simulation for experienced positions.
