JOB – Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION – Chester
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
My client design and manufacture high-tech products for a global client base. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Chester on a permanent basis.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
* BSc / BEng / MSc / MEng / HND or similar in Mechanical Engineering
* Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor etc.
* 4 or more years’ of experience working in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
* Good knowledge of different metal materials, manufacturing techniques and machining processes
* Have a methodical approach to work
* Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
* Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
* Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
* Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
* Using SolidWorks, Inventor CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
* Liaising with manufacturing providers
* Being involved in final assembly of products
* Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
