MBNL delivers the mobile infrastructure that enables digital Britain. This is achieved by providing Property, Infrastructure, and Operational services to EE/BT and Three.
The Infrastructure directorate is accountable for the design, deployment, and in-life management of site infrastructure to meet safety, service, and deployment requirements, enabling EE/BT and Three to deliver their best customer experiences at the lowest cost.
Reporting into the MBNL Infrastructure Directorate, the Design Authority team works together to provide technical support to internal, EE/BT, and Three teams within their specific subject matter, along with supporting the publication of standards and design documentation to ensure consistency across all levels of site works. This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week onsite at our Central Reading office.
What you will do:
1. Author technical documentation and peer review relevant partner documentation or be comfortable briefing responsible designers to author/review within the supply chain.
2. Support bi-monthly technical forums with partners, EE/BT, and Three.
3. Lead conclusions on requests for site-specific deviations from policy.
4. Be the technical authority over strategic documentation, owning documentation within your specific Subject Matter Expert (SME) area. Author or support the publication of design documentation as required to shape the design and maintenance of the MBNL network.
5. Be a point of escalation for technical queries internally and from EE/BT and Three.
6. Review, discuss, and make judgments on site-specific concessions from project upgrades.
7. Identify and track potential network-wide defects, collaborating with other SMEs to mitigate risks across the MBNL site portfolio.
8. Coordinate with contractors, SMEs, and internal MBNL teams, using effective communication to ensure projects progress smoothly.
What we are looking for:
* Specialism in either Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Environmental engineering, with relevant experience.
* Experience in technical document writing.
* Strong understanding of structural, mechanical, or civil systems.
* Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and existing technical guidance.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
Nice to have:
* HNC or degree qualifications in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Environmental engineering or similar discipline.
* Experience in telecoms infrastructure.
* Full driving license.
* Membership of a relevant engineering council or institution.
