Overview
We are looking for a Domestic Operative to join our adult service. This role involves ensuring all residential accommodation, offices and communal areas are clean, safe and provide a pleasant environment for people to live and work in, while complying with all relevant Health and Safety legislation. The role may also include working in the central laundry to ensure people's items are laundered in a timely manner and in line with all relevant Health and Safety legislation. Your main area of work will be King Street however, work around the Group may be required.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the environment is kept at a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness for the people we support.
* Complete records clearly and promptly and follow agreed work schedules.
* Work to agreed standards, including relevant Health and Safety legislation.
* Work as part of a team to meet the needs of the people we support.
* Avoid waste of materials or equipment to ensure money is spent on more important things.
* Follow best practice, be suitably qualified and trained, and maintain a commitment to learning.
* Take extra care with cleaning materials and equipment when working where the people we support live.
* Adhere to shift patterns (Monday – Friday); hours to be discussed at interview.
Qualifications
* Good knowledge of general health and safety regulations (e.g., Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, Food Safety and Infection Control).
* Experience using cleaning equipment and materials in situations where care is needed to prevent harm to others.
* Ability to follow schedules and produce high-quality work while maintaining positive relationships with people and staff in a busy environment.
* Ability to deal with external visitors in a welcoming and helpful manner, communicate clearly and effectively, and follow laid down schedules/procedures.
* Willingness to suggest improvements; maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality.
* Because you are working where the people we support live, you must take extra care with cleaning materials and equipment.
* Overall suitability: you will be suitably qualified and trained plus you will follow best practice and have a commitment to learning.
* Eligibility note: due to current workforce planning requirements, we are prioritising applications from candidates with indefinite leave to remain or settled status in the UK, but we welcome applications from all candidates regardless of sponsorship/settled status.
