I am a 34‑year‑old lady living in central Port Talbot with hearing loss and partial sight deprivation. I use hearing aids and a white cane to navigate and manage in familiar environments.
I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me with shopping, walks, socialising groups during the week and to take my young son to activities on weekends.
Responsibilities
* Assist with shopping, walking, and accessing socialising groups during the week.
* Support with taking my son to weekend activities and enjoyable places.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Car driver essential.
* Trustworthy, reliable, patient and able to provide reassurance.
* Respects privacy and confidentiality.
* Ability to help maintain my independence.
Hours & Schedule
8 hours per week, including flexible weekdays and 5 hours on a Saturday from 10:00 onwards. Must commit to Saturday work.
Employment Details
* Will be employed by an individual employer.
* Possibly required DBS check; cost covered by employer. Children‑working check mandatory.
* Requires two satisfactory references if requested by employer.
* Subject to a 1‑month trial period and up to 6 months probationary period.
* Wages paid on a 4‑weekly or monthly basis once valid NI number is provided.
* Eligible to work in the UK; documented checked before commencement.
* Annual leave entitlement and other statutory entitlements provided per contract.
* Will be issued a Personal Assistants Handbook upon commencement.
* Expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to the post; training costs covered. Failure to attend may lead to withdrawal of offer.
