Our client is looking to recruit a Warehouse Operations Manager with experience in 3PL Logistics. This vacancy would suit a hands-on people person with experience in management within a 3PL environment.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Stoke warehouse, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, ensuring that warehouse activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
Duties Include
* Overseeing the management of inventory within the warehouse.
* Being responsible for optimizing the use of warehouse space.
* Managing the order fulfillment process, ensuring that customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time.
* Overseeing quality control procedures to ensure that goods are received and stored in good condition.
* Implementing safety protocols, conducting safety training, and enforcing safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
* Leading and managing a team of warehouse personnel, including supervisors, pickers, packers, and forklift operators.
* Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency is a key aspect of the role.
* Overseeing the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, conveyor systems, and pallet racking.
* Interacting with suppliers and vendors to coordinate the delivery and receipt of goods.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, such as customs, safety, and environmental standards, especially when handling hazardous materials or international shipments.
* Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing best practices to enhance warehouse efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills
* Knowledge of WMS systems, including RF Scanners.
* Proven experience running a high-performing profitable contract logistics department.
* Able to promote and manage change.
* Effective organizational and time management skills, inclusive of prioritizing workload.
* Confident decision-making and problem-solving.
* Able to interpret statistics and data effectively.
Hours of Work
The hours of work are based on 42.5 hours. Flexibility will be required.
The site operates a 2-shift pattern covering 6am-10pm and 6pm-2pm during peak periods.
Typical hours are 8am-6pm.
