Overview
Role Description: The candidate will work in the Radiology Department, with the opportunity to rotate through Plain Film, MRI, CT, Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology. This role involves assisting patient preparation for their imaging such as helping them to change and manual handling on to the examination tables. The Radiography Department Assistant will chaperone during examinations such as ultrasound, cannulate, perform basic aseptic technique and clinical observations, stock ordering and clean the equipment. They will use hospital IT systems to input and record data. This is an important role supporting the Radiology staff to provide a high quality service in a department with a large number of patients seen each day.
Responsibilities
* Assist patient preparation for imaging, including helping patients change and manual handling onto examination tables.
* Chaperone during examinations (e.g., ultrasound).
* Cannulate, perform basic aseptic technique and clinical observations as required.
* Stock ordering and cleaning of equipment; maintain stock and supply levels.
* Use hospital IT systems to input and record data.
* Support Radiology staff to provide high quality service in a busy department.
