We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic and compassionate Science Teacher to work in one of our SEN Secondary schools in the Stockport area. You will be planning and delivering lessons for pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, high anxiety, emotional-based school avoidance, and difficulties with relationships and communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Adapt content and teaching strategies to meet EHCP targets and individual learning profiles
* Create a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive classroom environment
* Build positive relationships with students and support their social and emotional development
* Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and school leadership
* Monitor progress and contribute to student reviews and reports
* Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience working in SEN or inclusive settings (preferred but not essential)
* Strong subject knowledge in science and a flexible, creative approach to teaching
* A belief in inclusive learning and the ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse needs
* Excellent communication, behaviour management, and interpersonal skills
* Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs
