About the role
We are looking to recruit an exceptional Teaching of Art and Textiles. This isa part time 0.4FTE role, and the successful candidate will have the opportunityto deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 (Year 7-9) and 4 (Year 10-11). Keyresponsibilities include providing excellent, inspirational and dedicatedteaching in a safe and stimulating environment, planning lessons and schemes ofwork both independently and collaboratively with the Visual Arts Department andmonitoring the development, progress and attainment of all pupils, sharing thisinformation withpupils, parents/guardians and colleagues.
The Visual Arts Department is a fully equipped department that is taught viaspecialist teachers from Year 7 to Year 11. All students take part inindividual Art and Design lessons during KS3 as well as doing 3D Design,Ceramics, Photography, Printmaking, Textiles and Food Technology on arotational basis. Many students opt to take at least one GCSE within the VisualArts Department choosing between 3D Design, Fine Art, Photography, Textiles andFood Technology.
The successful candidate will be a part of a team of full time and part-timeteachers, most of whom are practicing artists. A team player with the abilityto communicate well with colleagues and students is essential, to enable thehappy and creative working environment to continue.

Who we are looking for:
This role would suit an experienced Art and/or Textiles teacher or recentgraduate, and the successful candidate would be required to fulfil therequirements listed in the Key Responsibilities below:
Key Responsibilities
-Facilitate a wide variety of media to develop experimentation andlearning.
-Provide excellent, inspirational, and dedicated support to aid theteaching in a safe and stimulating environment.
-Knowledge of safe and effective working practices in a studio workingwith a range of materials.
-Organise and develop studio atmosphere.
-Support the planning of lessons and schemes of work with the Visual ArtsDepartment that address the various needs of our individual pupils and ascollective, diverse cohorts.
-To inspire and enthuse pupils about the study of Visual Arts byproviding clear support
-Create wall displays for teaching.
-Assist with exhibitions in School foyer during the academicyear.
-Assist with end of year student shows.
-Attend Departmental meetings and share ideas.
-Share good practice and maintain Health & Safety requirements.
-Develop sound working relationship with students.
-To support and engage NBH students with the arts and take responsibilityfor promoting, coordinating, and participating in Visual Arts.
