We have an exciting opportunity available at the West Cornwall Hospital for a Registered Nurse to join our committed team on Med 1 Unit. The Unit is a 27 bedded medical/care of elderly ward with a MDT approach and a wide variety of patients. Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills and knowledge of clinical standards. You must be able to work on your own initiative and also be an excellent team player whilst being prepared to develop as an individual and support others to develop.
Job Responsibilities
* To work as a skilled member of the nursing team.
* To provide a high standard of compassionate patient-centred care.
* To lead and supervise the work of other qualified and unqualified staff within the team.
* To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
* To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff, as deemed appropriate by the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse or Clinical Matron.

Qualifications
Essential: Level 1 Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration; commitment to obtain assessing/mentoring qualification. Desirable: Evidence of professional portfolio; basic computer skills.
Skills
Essential: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desirable: Basic computer skills.
Experience
Essential: Previous experience in an acute Trust within the last twelve months (this can include student placement).
