We’re on the lookout for a passionate, committed, and creative Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Class Teacher to lead the Bronze Award programme for a group of incredible young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This exciting role will include: Lead and deliver the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award to secondary-aged students with SEMH needs. Plan and facilitate inclusive, hands-on sessions across all four DofE sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills, and Expedition. Build a positive, nurturing, and structured environment where students can grow in confidence, resilience, and teamwork. Collaborate closely with our Director of Inclusion, pastoral team, and external partners to support the whole student journey. If you can demonstrate the following then we’d love to hear from you: You might be a qualified teacher, a youth worker, or an inspiring leader from the world of Scouts, Forest School, or outdoor education. What matters most is your passion for working with young people, your creativity, and your ability to engage and motivate those who may not thrive in traditional classroom settings. We’re looking for someone who: Has experience working with young people, ideally those with SEMH needs or in alternative provision settings. Is committed to building trusting, respectful relationships, using restorative and trauma-informed approaches. Is confident leading practical, outdoor, and experiential learning sessions. Has (or is willing to gain) knowledge of the Duke of Edinburgh Award framework. Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) — but this is not essential. We value passion and experience just as highly.
