MERITUS are recruiting for a Sales Engineer to join our client in a permanent position from their site in Hortonwood to support an international sales team.
SALES ENGINEER - £35,000 / £40,000 DOE - HORTONWOOD, SHROPSHIRE - FAST MOVING PROCESS
This role sits at the intersection of engineering and commercial delivery, supporting international customers and internal engineering teams through the development of technical solutions, proposals, and bid documentation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in translating customer requirements into technically robust and commercially viable solutions, while supporting global business development activities.
Responsibilities
* Support the development of technical concepts and system solutions aligned to customer requirements.
* Prepare technical and commercial proposals including documentation required for bids and tenders.
* Support the end-to-end bid process, ensuring solutions are technically feasible and commercially competitive.
* Perform capacity planning and system analysis to support proposed automation and manufacturing solutions.
* Provide technical support to international customers and global internal teams.
* Work closely with engineering, commercial, and operations teams to ensure proposed solutions meet technical, operational, and commercial objectives.
* Maintain awareness of market developments, competitor technologies, and industry trends.
Candidate Requirements
Experience
* Experience within a technical sales, applications engineering, or engineering support role.
* Background working within a manufacturing, automation, or engineering-led environment.
* Experience supporting technical proposals, bids, or customer-facing engineering activities.
Skills
* Strong technical problem-solving capability.
* Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
* Clear and effective written communication skills, particularly in preparing technical documentation.
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance performance and cost considerations.
