Opportunity: Lead within Trafford Local Care Organisation Bladder and Bowel Services
An exciting 12-month secondment opportunity has arisen for a Lead position within Trafford Local Care Organisation Bladder and Bowel Services, covering maternity leave. The post holder will be a core member of the Adult Nursing management team, working collaboratively to deliver high-quality care in Trafford and to develop a locally appropriate integrated approach to care delivery. The role involves contributing to the improvement strategy and representing community nursing at various forums and groups across the Neighbourhood and Locality/Borough.
The post holder will be clinically responsible for assessing patients with bladder and bowel needs, developing care plans, and implementing care. They will provide advice and guidance to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring all records and documentation are completed accurately. The role requires enhanced communication skills to manage the broad range of issues involved in leading the integrated nursing team within the neighbourhood. The post also entails operational management of the Bladder & Bowel team within the locality, ensuring the delivery of a safe, high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Bladder and Bowel Service.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with bladder and/or bowel conditions following national and local guidelines.
* Perform advanced clinical assessments, including urinalysis, bladder and bowel charting, ultrasound bladder scans, pelvic floor, and digital rectal examinations.
* Act as a resource, offering specialist clinical advice and support to Trust staff on continence management.
* Develop and evaluate policies, guidelines, and protocols relevant to continence, bladder, and bowel care.
* Maintain a highly visible clinical profile, providing both advisory and direct clinical input into patient care.
* Lead, organize, and deliver bladder and bowel education programs for healthcare professionals to enhance clinical competencies and support high-quality, patient-centered services.
