Are you a newly qualified or experienced Band 5 Nurse practitioner looking for an exciting career within Crisis Prevention House - Elysian house? If you think you may be up for the challenge, we would love to hear from you!
The post holder will guide junior colleagues in interventions on each shift and will also have individual staff to supervise and reflect with. They are responsible for health and safety during each shift, reporting/escalating issues to senior managers or on-call personnel when necessary.
The post holder will lead some activities in the house and ensure the environment maintains the privacy, dignity, and respect of all service users. They will deputise for the House Manager when unavailable, including weekends.
Elysian House - Crisis Prevention House provides vital support to those experiencing severe mental health issues in the community. The team offers intensive support to adults in crisis, as an alternative to hospital admission.
We operate 24/7, 365 days a year.
Main duties of the job
This role is part of the launch of our Crisis Prevention Houses, which are therapeutic, recovery-focused, and person-centred. We aim to reconnect symptoms to individuals' life contexts, acknowledging the impact of childhood trauma, marginalisation, poverty, racism, and violence on mental health. Guests can live in a safe environment and participate in activities like life skills building, mental health education, wellbeing support, therapy, and creative pursuits. Our goal is to help guests recover and rebuild confidence, laying a foundation for a meaningful life without re-traumatisation.

Working for our organisation
The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) has strengthened since 2021, forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.
You may be required to work at different locations under the Trusts' jurisdiction, as needed. The Trust reserves the right to assign staff to other locations temporarily or permanently.

The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, able to work independently and as part of a team, responsible for risk assessment, care planning, and delivery. They should confidently assess and manage mental health and social needs, delivering therapeutic techniques. Developing care plans collaboratively with clients and their families is essential. The post involves working with external agencies to provide effective care, ensuring clients' needs are met.

Person specification
Education and qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC registered)
* Meet NMC revalidation requirements
* High educational standards and proficiency in English
* Evidence of ongoing professional development, such as Mentorship qualification
Experience and knowledge
* Experience in an acute healthcare setting
* Knowledge of legislation like MHA, Human Rights Act, NHS frameworks, Child Protection, and NHS Long Term Plan
* Understanding of risk assessment and management
* Knowledge of physical health needs and monitoring
* Ability to recognise limitations and seek advice
