An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Department at Wirral University Teaching Hospital as a Clinical Support Worker - Emergency Department.
We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Healthcare Workers who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and ever-evolving emergency setting. This is a rewarding role for individuals who thrive under pressure and are committed to making a real difference to patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (such as A-Levels or NVQ Level 3), or have an equivalent level of education with a willingness to undertake the relevant Level 3 qualification upon appointment.
Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 12 months’ experience as a Healthcare Assistant, supported by relevant knowledge gained through practical experience, on-the-job training, and short courses, are also encouraged to apply.
Basic Nursing Care Responsibilities
* Assist with personal hygiene
* Assist with toileting
* Assist with dressing/undressing
* Ensure patients' nutritional status is maintained
Clinical Tasks
* ECG acquisition
* Peripheral IV access
* Venepuncture
* Basic & advanced casting
* Pressure area risk assessment
* Urinalysis
* Pregnancy testing
* Capillary blood glucose monitoring
* Stoma care
* Wound care management of simple wounds/basic dressings
* Perform observations using an automated device
* Removal of staples
