Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Control Engineer with strong expertise in variable speed drive (VSD/VFD) systems to supporting commissioning activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards. Key Responsibilities Maintain control systems for industrial machinery and processes Configure, and commission variable speed drives (VSDs/VFDs) for motors and motion systems Integrate control systems with electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation components Perform system commissioning, site testing, and fault-finding on control and drive systems Optimize motor control performance, energy efficiency, and system reliability Ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety regulations, and client requirements Required Qualifications & Experience Experience as a Control Engineer in an industrial or manufacturing environment Strong hands-on experience with variable speed drives (VSD/VFD), including commissioning and troubleshooting Understanding of motor control methods (e.g., induction motors, vector control, torque/speed control) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control panel drawings Knowledge of industrial communication protocols Desirable Skills & Experience Experience with HMI/SCADA systems Experience with energy optimization or high-power drive systems Commissioning experience in the field, including working on live plant environments Knowledge of relevant standards Personal Attributes Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Good communication skills, both written and verbal Willingness to travel to customer or site locations when required Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality General Salary £45k - £50k depending on experience Overtime possible 25 days Holiday Bank holidays
