Energy Officer
Start: ASAP
Rate: £350 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: England - Flexible hybrid working, predominantly remote
Duration: 6 Months - Potential to be extended
Our client is seeking the support of an Energy Officer to support the Energy Manager and Energy Officer in the provision of professional energy and utility management and monitoring throughout all organisation premises, including utility data validation processing and analysis, the identification, implementation and management of energy conservation programmes; to support regulatory compliance and all matters relating to Government directives.
Duties / Responsibilities:
* Highly skilled with computers including the maintenance and development of databases, spreadsheets and complex reports, and to be aware of new advances in technology
* Validation of utility invoices prior to processing and approval by the Energy Carbon Manager
* Be the point of contact in specialist areas with external providers on Energy/Carbon related matters
* Produce and populate regular and ad-hoc complex utility reports to enable analysis of utility consumption, cost and efficiency
* Record, monitor and analyse energy / water performance against targets and trends for all organisation properties
* Be proactive in the identification of schemes and potential upgrades to improve energy / water efficiency within the organisation
* Keep abreast of current developments in Energy Efficiency
* Assisting with Building Energy Audits when required
* Liaise with organisation staff, Project Teams, Contractors and legislative bodies as required
* Assist the Energy Manager in reducing the organisation’s energy/utility consumption and costs
* Also assist with reducing the organisation’s annual carbon emissions
* Provide advice to staff across the organisation to understand and explain technical facts and situations
* Organising meetings with outside agencies
* Provide help and instruction on energy and carbon efficiency matters to other staff members within the organisation
* The ability to communicate technically complex information to organisation staff, suppliers and contractors in writing and electronically
* Actively promote energy awareness and good practice amongst all organisation staff as and when required (This might include presentations)
* Assist the Energy Manager in the development, review and implementation of organisation policies and procedures in energy and water
* Form effective working relationships with colleagues throughout the organisation, Finance and Procurement
* Willingness to carry out other reasonable duties as may be requested by management
