Group and Internal Audit Accountant
Southampton (Hybrid working available)
£50-60k plus bonus
A leading listed global company operating in the defence and security sectors is seeking a talented and motivated qualified accountant to join them in a newly created role. With global operations, this organisation delivers cutting-edge technologies and services to customers in over 50 countries.
The Role
This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with both the
Group Finance
and
Internal Audit
teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly group management accounts and analyse results and forecasts
* Model risks to group profit and cash flow
* Support preparation of board-level financial presentations and accounting papers
* Review and challenge subsidiary budgets and strategic plans
* Assist with statutory reporting and annual disclosures
* Provide financial and operational support to business units
* Contribute to ERP system rollout and internal control documentation
* Conduct risk-based internal audits and follow up on recommendations
* Prepare audit reports and present findings to senior leadership
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong audit background (ideally top 10) and preferably experience in manufacturing or defence (either as part of audits or directly). You'll be confident working independently and collaboratively, with excellent analytical and communication skills, acting as a business partner to a wide range of global contacts.
Requirements:
* Professional accounting qualification with audit experience from a top tier practice
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Some experience of Internal Audit an advantage
* Experience / exposure to manufacturing / defence sectors preferred
* Comfortable presenting and communicating findings
* Willingness to travel quarterly to UK and global sites.
* Experience dealing with PLC organisations preferred
