HMP Parc is a Category B men's private prison for young offenders based in Bridgend, Mid-Glamorgan, Wales.
Your new role
HMP Parc offers an exciting opportunity to join the facilities team as an Electrical Engineer. As part of the Works Department, you will be responsible for reactive repairs, planned and preventative maintenance, as well as installation work.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and fault-finding.
* Follow Health and Safety, G4S policies, and regulations.
* Participate in survey inspections for quality control, including confined spaces.
* Record and log all work performed.
* Manage equipment and services on site where necessary.
* Carry out inspections within the works department, including repairs to assets, building fabric, furniture, fixtures and fittings, grounds, access, and parking areas.
* Work as part of a team with various skill levels.
* Maintain security awareness within the prison environment.
* Promote a positive health and safety culture across the site, lead by example, and report incidents or near-misses promptly, ensuring all H+S procedures are followed.
Working hours
40 hours per week on a 5 out of 7-day permanent contract. Shift patterns are as follows:
* Week 1: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
* Week 2: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
* Week 3: 11:00 am - 7:30 pm
Candidate requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical or equivalent (must have AM2), 18th Edition, and 2391 Test and Inspection is desirable but not required. Experience in maintenance is preferred, but newly qualified candidates are also encouraged to apply. We seek someone with strong teamwork skills, attention to detail, and security awareness.
Benefits
Salary of £33,470.80 per annum, dependent on experience, plus additional on-call and call-out rates. Benefits include free onsite parking and opportunities for professional development in NIC (Onsite NIC Approvals), IPAF training, Pasma, health and safety, and first aid certifications.
