Birkett House is an extremely popular and successful all age special school for pupils with learning difficulties. We are a multi-sited school in South Leicestershire. The main school site is in Wigston, and we also have inclusion units at Thistly Meadow Primary School (Blaby), Little Hill Primary School (Wigston), Thomas Estley Community College (Broughton Astley) and a purpose-built Senior Department based in Countesthorpe.
Job Information:
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Lead Teacher based within one of our inclusion units. This position would suit an inspirational, innovative and dynamic class teacher with a passion for working with children and young people with learning difficulties and who is looking to take their first steps towards middle leadership.
In this role, as well as your usual classroom responsibility, you will:
1. be the primary support, both for staff and students, in the day-to-day management of the Centre, aiming to resolve issues in a timely manner
2. represent Birkett House School in liaising with the teaching and leadership staff within the hosting school to create the best opportunities for our pupils,
3. work closely with Birkett House Leadership when forward planning or resolving issues related to the Unit.
4. work collaboratively and independently, with a forward thinking approach and willingness to grow and develop yourself and others
We are looking to recruit a Lead Teacher who:

Contract: Full time, permanent.
Salary: Main Scale or UPS (dependent on experience) + 1 SEN point (£2,786).
Fixed term rolling TLR enhancement for Lead teacher element: TLR3 (£3,477).
Current location: Thomas Estley Inclusion Unit at Broughton Astley, Leicester (please note as a lead teacher you will rotate between other inclusion sites every 2-3 years)
