Temporary MIG Welder (Day Shift)
We are currently seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join our team on a day shift pattern, with the flexibility to also operate robotic welding equipment.
Shift Hours:
1. Monday to Thursday: 06:00 – 14:30
2. Friday: 06:00 – 11:30
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
3. Weld high-quality components, including setting up and operating a range of tooling and machinery such as MIG/TIG welders, punches, and other fabrication equipment
4. Operate and assist with robotic welding equipment, with a willingness to learn and support automated welding processes
5. Prepare, clean, cut, burn, and weld metal components to specification
6. Set up and measure assemblies, selecting the most suitable welding method for each job
7. Read and interpret welding drawings, technical plans, and specifications accurately
8. Complete all required work documentation, records, and job sheets
9. Maintain a safe working environment by following Health & Safety procedures and legal compliance requirements
10. Use work equipment correctly, troubleshoot issues, and carry out preventative maintenance where necessary
11. Meet quality and productivity targets while maintaining high workmanship standards
Qualifications & Experience Required:
12. Minimum Level 2 NVQ, indentured apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification
13. Previous experience in a similar MIG welding role
14. Welding qualifications are desirable but not essential
15. Experience with robotic welding is beneficial, but training can be provided for the right candidate
16. Strong numeracy and measurement skills
17. Essential: ability to read and interpret technical drawings
18. Self-motivated and capable of working independently
