There are x4 positions available to join our Transport Team within Warwickshire County Council. 37 hours per week (Full Time, 52 weeks per year) About the Role Transport Operations arranges home to school transport provision for students with special educational needs as well as transport to day care services for adults. We also provide daytime demand responsive transport. We are looking for 4 Drivers to join us as part of our expansion. Driving a specially adapted large minibus, you will be working with a team of other Drivers and Passenger Assistants. You will be responsible for operating a demand responsive Transport service, transporting adults and children to day care, respite placements and schools in Warwickshire. This will include helping passengers, some of whom may have physical and learning disabilities, on and off the bus, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation. Drivers are responsible for maintaining the vehicle records as well ensuring the bus is clean and tidy after each use. Location Full time roles are based at our Rugby depot. Primarily based within Rugby Borough, with appropriate breaks including lunch. These breaks are taken remotely, as there is not an opportunity to return to the depot due to time and distance constraints. Drivers employed by Warwickshire County Council may be asked to work from a different depot, which will always be notified in advance. Drivers will be expected to support the wider team as required including occasional work as a Passenger Assistant on a route instead of driving when required. A full package of training will be provided to support you in the role should you be successful. Key Requirements To be successful in this role it is important you enjoy driving, hold a clean Driving Licence with Category D1 and are available to work shifts in the early mornings and afternoons. With good communication and customer care skills, you will enjoy meeting and assisting people of various ages and disabilities, providing a courteous and sensitive service. With the ability to work on your own initiative; flexible in your approach, helping the wider team as necessary; you will be used to handling confidential information with tact and discretion. It would be advantageous if you have experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and experience of working with young and elderly people who are disabled.
