Location & Work Pattern: Hybrid working, 2 days from our office in Glasgow or Edinburgh, rest from home. Permanent, full-time (37.5 hpw), Monday to Friday.
Salary & Benefits: Circa £58,000 pa negotiable based on skills and experience, plus benefits including health cash plan.
About the Role: As a Fire Safety Manager in the Building Safety Team, you will lead fire safety initiatives in your region, conduct inspections, collaborate with contractors, ensure standards are met, and advise colleagues on fire safety matters. This is a new role focused on proactive risk management and compliance.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading fire safety inspections, managing contractors, reviewing assessment quality
* Identifying trends and risks early and taking preventive action
* Overseeing remedial work and post-checks to ensure resolution
* Preparing for audits and managing incident responses
* Training colleagues on fire safety responsibilities
* Contributing to safety reports and compliance data

Candidate Profile:
* Experience in fire risk assessment and inspections
* Level 4 Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment or NEBOSH Fire Certificate (or similar)
* Ability to manage contractors and challenge performance
* Knowledge of Fire Safety Order and Building Safety Act
* Experience with audits, investigations, and regulatory reporting
* Effective communicator supporting a safety culture
Additional Details:
* Working hours: Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and occasional evenings
* Hybrid role, covering Scotland, with some days in offices or out and about
* Must have a vehicle insured for business purposes; mileage paid
* Enhanced DBS check required (paid for by us)
