Information Governance Officer
About the role: The Information Governance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the Council Information Asset Register and Record of Processing Activities Register are current and fit for purpose, maintaining all Data Privacy Impact Assessments and Data Sharing Agreement registers. The role also oversees Data Security Protection Toolkit (DSPT) compliance, leads recording, reporting and analysis of Security Incidents, and supports the Information Governance Team with compliance in Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations and the Data Protection Act.
About the candidate: We are looking for someone who demonstrates excellent customer service, strong numeracy, literacy, communication, and administrative skills. Attention to detail and prioritisation are vital. Experience in coordinating and managing board meetings, minute‑taking, report writing and policy review is advantageous. Understanding of Data Protection, Freedom of Information (FOI) and the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) legislation is ideal; training will be provided.
