The role
You’ll be a key player in a growing team, reviewing and deciding on larger or more complex proposals. Your expertise will help shape deals, manage risk, and support our broker network with clarity and confidence.
What you’ll do
* Assess creditworthiness, asset values, and securities.
* Make sound, balanced decisions on high-value proposals.
* Liaise with introducers and issue clear outcomes.
* Write recommendation papers for Board and Committee review.
* Participate in high-value deal approvals.
What you bring
* Strong underwriting experience in asset finance, with a mandate for high-value deals.
* Confidence writing for and presenting to Boards and Committees.
* Solid grasp of the Consumer Credit Act and FCA Handbook.
* Sharp financial analysis skills and commercial awareness.
* A collaborative mindset and a cool head under pressure.
Bonus points if you have:
* A recognised Credit Risk Management qualification (or are working towards one).
The practical bits
We work 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Our Underwriting team is typically onsite three days a week at our Wellingborough head office. If you’re based further afield, we’re open to flexible arrangements based on your experience.
