Job Title: Band 7 Pathologist Location: Wexham Park Hospital, Slough Pay Rate: £31 per hour LTD (PAYE options available) Contract Type: Locum / Long-Term Start Date: ASAP Working Hours: Full-Time / Flexible Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Band 7 Pathologist to join the mortuary and pathology services team at Wexham Park Hospital. This role involves performing post mortems and carrying out standard mortuary duties in a busy hospital setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-quality pathological examinations and contributing to the smooth running of mortuary services. Key Responsibilities: Conduct post mortem examinations with accuracy, sensitivity, and professionalism. Perform standard mortuary duties, including the handling, identification, and release of deceased patients. Liaise with clinical teams, coroners, and families as appropriate. Maintain detailed and precise records of examinations and findings. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hospital policies. Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within the pathology department.Requirements: Appropriate medical qualification and full GMC registration. Experience working as a pathologist, preferably with post mortem experience. Ability to work independently and maintain high professional standards. Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
