Join us as a Technology Risk & Control Manager to support the business in embedding effective risk management within Mortgages, Savings & Insurance Technology.
To be successful as a Technology Risk & Control Manager, you should have the following skills/experience:
* Strong understanding and knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), Operational Risk Framework (ORF), and Control Frameworks.
* A solid understanding of core IT infrastructure components, including Linux or Windows Server OS, MS SQL or Oracle databases, networks, load balancers, and storage systems.
* A collaborative mindset, with experience supporting business stakeholders and working seamlessly with technical teams across multiple geographies.
* Ability to influence at senior management level and apply judgment to balance risk versus business interest whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and standards.
Additional valued skills include:
* Experience in a Risk & Control role within a Financial Services environment, demonstrating a risk management mindset.
* Possession of industry-standard Technology Risk & Control Management qualifications (e.g., ISACA).
* Strong Excel skills, including managing large data sets, pivots, formulas, lookups.
* Effective communication skills, capable of presenting credibly to senior stakeholders.
This role will be based in Knutsford, Northampton, or Sunderland.
Purpose of the role
Support the Risk Function in safeguarding the bank's financial and operational stability by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units.

* Developing strategic direction for risk, including implementing up-to-date methodologies and processes.
* Managing the risk department, overseeing risk colleagues, and ensuring department efficiency and effectiveness.
* Managing relationships with risk stakeholders and maintaining quality external third-party services.
* Ensuring adherence to Risk policies, standards, frameworks, and maintaining a robust control environment.
